My Muse
In Greek mythology there were nine muses. Three of them were deticated to poetry. Calliope was for Epic Poetry which has now turned into today's general writing. Erato for lyric Poetry, that has become is today's prose. Lastly, Polyhymnia for Choral Poetry, things like hymns or songs fall in this catagory. So I am tapping into my muses, Calliope, Erato, and Polyhymnia; and giving you my soul.

The Fountain
This poem covers a lifetime. The traditions of a all women's college and the daily life from beginning to end. Every person will admit that their college years are a different realm from the real world. It is a place for you to discover who you are and who your not. A place to find lifetime friends that you would have never looked at before. It is where your moral code is finally set in place. The destruction of this process will only weaken our future world. This poem covers a lifetime as I previously stated. The lifetime of discover and hope, of journey and possibilities. The never ending water that flows.
The Fountain
From Everywhere,
Stranger Women Gather.
Women Gather,
With Red Roses in hand.
Red Roses to Gather,
In the Fountain.
Their Sisterhood to gather Here.
In the middle of the
Open stillness,
One Black Fountain
Flowed.
The scalloped edged fountain,
Hosts a Squirrel.
A minute pause in his Chase of Wonder.
Snow Falls.
Ever-pouring Fountain,
Frozen Mid-move.
Sky High Sun,
Lights up the world.
Crystal Drops of water,
Catching rainbow light.
The fountains Depths,
A Pot of Sparkly
Gold.
Off Kilter streams the Fountain.
Down.
The black pool
Abyss.
Peaceful rests the weary Girl,
The drip, drip, splashing fountain,
Soothes her soul.
Sparrows take a welcome break.
The cool water their lounge.
They frolic amongst the tiers of the fountain,
Until flight grabs them again.
Wrought Iron Fountain,
Holds against
The Gales and Storms.
Women in Green Robes
Align
Before the fountain.
Arm in Arm, Roses in hand.
And the Water
ever flows.

The Field Down the Path

The field down the path
There is a field down the path where the memories lay
That never fades like the green grass that never goes away
Wild flowers grow and Lilies bloom
In the field down the path where dreams loom
Children play by day lovers meet by night
In the field down the path where romance is bright
spring changes to summer summer to fall
In the field down the path that holds it all
Year after year the days go by
But that field never changes as time flies
Slowly by slow the memories change
In the field down the path it begins to rain
Inch by inch dreams are washed away
In that field down the path where the memories lay
No longer running barefoot will lovers be
Because that field down the path we can no longer see
until the fates let us,

Land By The Sea
Land By The Sea
Happy as the day is long
that is how we use to be
laughing joyously and singing song
in the land by the sea
Young Children you and I are we
Building castles in the sand
living youthful and carefree
In our own peaceful land
Skipping along hand in hand
blissful years go by
as we began to see that youth was grand
our peaceful sand began to fly
The age was reached where we asked why
playtime was hard to last
new thoughts entered that we wished to try
our world began falling fast
Now and then I see our past
In two children playing free
I begin to dream in long last
of our land by the sea
that is how we use to be
laughing joyously and singing song
in the land by the sea
Young Children you and I are we
Building castles in the sand
living youthful and carefree
In our own peaceful land
Skipping along hand in hand
blissful years go by
as we began to see that youth was grand
our peaceful sand began to fly
The age was reached where we asked why
playtime was hard to last
new thoughts entered that we wished to try
our world began falling fast
Now and then I see our past
In two children playing free
I begin to dream in long last
of our land by the sea
until the fates let us,
Ali
